This Excel Estimating Template for Landscaping is well designed and very easy to use, even for the beginner.
This template is broken into 8 different sections on the Landscaping Takeoff page. The sections are: trees, shrubs, perennials, ground cover, misc. hard goods, subcontract list, irrigation list and mobilization costs. Within each of these sections you choose a dropdown list which allows you to pick from a list of products and / or options. Each of the dropdown lists can contain hundreds of different plants, trees or other costs. Simply choose the landscape product, then enter the number or quantity and the system looks up the price, allows you to define and choose from up to three different landscape suppliers, and depending upon the supplier you choose, the template brings in the appropriate cost for the material from the selected supplier.
The heart of this system is the Data Page which you will customize to include hundreds or even thousands of different landscaping plant materials, based upon the description, size, type of container, cost and estimated hours to plant or install. You can then enter pricing for up to three different suppliers for each category of items.
The Financial Summary page in this Landscape Estimating Template allows you to assign a markup rate and a multiplier for determining your selling price, even displaying your estimated gross margin.
